How to Register for JAMB 2018 – Step by Step Guide


The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has commenced sales of 2018 UTME forms. The form went on sale from December 2017 and will end on February 6, 2018.

In this article, you will learn how to register for the JAMB 2018 form without stress. Although, you cannot complete the registration all by yourself; You will need the services of CBT centers.

There are four steps to register for the 2018 JAMB form;

  • Create a JAMB e-facility profile.
  • Create a confirmation code
  • Purchasing an Epin.
  • Registering at the CBT center.

How to Register for JAMB 2018 UTME Exams

Step 1:

Create a JAMB E-facility profile: This is the very first step you have to take. Visit, click on “create e-Facility account” and fill the form appropriately.

An email account will be required for the registration.

Step 2:

Create a Confirmation Code: Send a message containing your Surname, FirstName and Other name to 55019. E.g “Adamu Uchenna Omotayo”. You will be charged 50 Naira for the SMS.

After you have done this, you will receive a unique confirmation code from JAMB.

Step 3:

Purchase JAMB Epin: The JAMB Epin cost 5,500 Naira. You can purchase it from either Remita, Quickteller or from a Bank branch. For your convenience, it’s better you buy it online.

Here is how to buy JAMB ePin online via Remita;

Visit the Remita platform for purchasing JAMB epin, select “Sale of JAMB/UTME registration” forms from the drop down menu.

Enter the phone number used while registering for JAMB E-Facility profile. Fill in the confirmation code received in step 2 and fill the other forms appropriately.

Tick the “I’m not a robot box” and click on submit. You will be directed to a page where you can enter your debit card details.

If you don’t really understand this step, just go to a Bank with your JAMB confirmation code and 5,500 Naira to purchase the JAMB Epin.

Step 4:

Finally, visit any JAMB CBT center around you to complete your JAMB registration. Go to the CBT center with your O’level result, JAMB confirmation code from step 2, JAMB E-pin from step 3 and a passport photograph.

The JAMB CBT center will charge you 700 Naira for JAMB registration. 700 Naira is the fixed price by JAMB.

Please note that while you are being attended to at the CBT center, ensure that your details are filled in correctly as making any changes in the future will cost you money.

In conclusion

After the registration, you will be given a JAMB photocard. You are to come along with it to the examination hall.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board is yet to announce a date for the UTME exam. You should start preparing for the exams immediately.
