YABATECH Introduces Grasscutter Farming and Four Other Short-term Courses

Yaba College of Technology in a bid to foster entrepreneurship and self-reliance has introduced grasscutter farming, land scalping and gardening, vegetable farming, print media enterprise, video handling and editing in its flexible programme courses to empower the general public.

This was announced by the Director of Flexible skills, Yaba College of Technology, Mr. Ibrahim Abdul. He also stated that the courses will last from 6-12 weeks.

Mr. Abdul said there were needs for youths in the country to embrace skill acquisition in addition to white collar jobs so as to add value to their lives and the society.

He said that the courses were designed in a way that individuals could acquire new skills within a short period of time.

Youths can start their own businesses with little capitals, be their own bosses in a short time and become employers of labour,’’ he said.

Mrs. Taiwo Oyelola, deputy rector (Academics) of the college said that everyone would require at least a skill to become self-reliant in life. She advised members of the public to seize the golden opportunity for the betterment of their lives.
