Yabatech Cut-Off Mark for 2019/2020
The management of the college is yet to release the JAMB cut-off mark for the 2019/2020 academic session.
The cut-off mark for the previous session was 150 (YABATECH) and 180 for candidates that applied for B.Sc Edu in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
We cannot ascertain what the YABATECH cut-off mark would be for this year but we predict it would be the same as last year.
Does YABATECH Accept Second Choice?
Yaba College of Technology allows candidates that chose it as either first choice or second choice to purchase its post-utme form, but they only give admission to first choice candidates.
Let me explain further.
A lot of candidates made either a Federal University or State University their first choice while registering for the JAMB UTME exam. Some of these candidates scored 200 and above.
The prerequisite of most Universities in Nigeria are that candidates must choose them as first choice and score from 200 and above.
For candidates in this category, YABATECH doesn’t want you to miss out completely on your University admission.
So the college allows you to make them a second option pending the outcome of your University admission. However, a lot of candidates with high JAMB UTME scores miss out on both options while trying to secure admission.
Here’s an advise, immediately you find out that your chances of getting admission to your first choice of school, make YABATECH your first choice if you haven’t already.
If your cut off mark is not up to the desired cut off mark for your first choice of institution, you should get the JAMB change of institution form and change to another school that accepts your score.
How the YABATECH Post-UTME Exam is Conducted
In the past 3-4 years now, YABATECH has not conducted written or CBT post-utme exams for its candidates. The candidates JAMB UTME score and SSCE result are calculated systematically to give the aggregate score.
Candidates did not need to come to the school premises to write an exam.
But with the new rector, you can’t be too sure of anything.
Mr. Obafemi Omokungbe, who resumed as the college’s rector has made some changes in how the school is managed.
If there’s going to be a written or computer-based post-utme exam, we will let you know immediately.
How to Calculate YABATECH Post-UTME Aggregate Score
As we said earlier, the school has a system it uses to grade candidates. In case the college does not conduct a Post-UTME exam, this system would be used to grade candidates.
We have written a detailed post on how to calculate YABATECH Post-UTME aggregate score, you should check it out.
While you wait for the YABATECH JAMB cut-off mark to be announced, you can calculate your aggregate score and compare it to last years cut off mark.
Please note that a low aggregate score does not mean you shouldn’t get the post-UTME form. A lot of candidates with low aggregate scores have gotten lucky in the past.
